Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sparked fresh political debate after making strong remarks against President William Ruto during a televised address targeting the Luo community.
Speaking through a local TV station on Wednesday night, Gachagua openly admitted that supporting Ruto in the 2022 General Election was a mistake.
In his remarks, he said he had been “stupid enough” to back Ruto at a time when other regions had allegedly rejected his candidacy.
According to Gachagua, the Mt Kenya region played a major role in delivering victory, only to feel sidelined later.
