He called it a failed attempt to hide public anger over unfulfilled promises and missing national projects.
In a post on X on September 10 Gachagua said Ruto visited Bomet to calm residents who felt cheated.
He claimed the president obtained their votes through false pretenses and that the visit only proved their complaints right.
Gachagua wrote that the national government has done nothing for Bomet residents beyond empty promises.
He said Ruto could not launch commission or inspect any new national project during the trip. Instead the president reportedly cried over a young girl describing her mother's hardships.
Gachagua questioned the sincerity of those tears. He asked who caused the girl's pain and suggested Ruto himself was responsible.
He warned that such emotional displays would no longer sway Kenyan voters and urged the president to fix the country instead.
He further claimed Ruto visited county government projects like the Bomet Assembly and the Mother and Child Hospital just to appear productive. He said the president looked embarrassed while doing so.
According to Gachagua economic charters signed with Kericho and Bomet remain unused at UDA headquarters. He argued they cannot be implemented within the remaining months of Ruto's term.
He acknowledged residents received handouts to gather crowds for the event.
Still he said the people of Bomet and Kericho were shortchanged compared to other regions. He ended his statement with a call for God to save Kenya.
Ruto's four day South Rift tour started on September 9 in Bomet. He inspected an airstrip commissioned a hospital launched roads and handed over housing units.
He also addressed the county assembly and flagged off electricity connections during the visit.
