Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has told Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro to go for benchmarking in Homa Bay Town Constituency if he wants to learn real development.
Kaluma said leaders should stop making noise on social media and TV and instead focus on what helps people on the ground.
Kaluma said Homa Bay Town has changed a lot in a short time, but many people do not talk about it because of politics.
He said development is not about showing off or talking big English. It is about good roads, clean markets, working hospitals, and jobs for young people.
According to him, Homa Bay Town is doing well in these areas.
The MP said Ndindi Nyoro is always praised as a top development MP, but that does not mean he knows everything.
Kaluma said no leader is too big to learn from another one. He said even leaders from places that are not popular politically can teach others something useful.
Kaluma said Homa Bay Town has focused on helping small traders, mama mbogas, boda boda riders, and youths.
He said markets have been repaired, drainage has been improved, and the town is now cleaner and more organized.
He added that these small things help people make money and live better lives. He also warned leaders against using development work to fight each other.
Kaluma said development money is for wananchi, not for MPs to brag with. He said when leaders turn development into politics, ordinary people suffer because service delivery stops.
Kaluma said he is not fighting Ndindi Nyoro. He said his message is simple: leaders should learn from each other instead of competing.
He added that even he can go to Kiharu to learn what they are doing right.
The Homa Bay Town MP said if Ndindi Nyoro visits Homa Bay, he will be welcomed and shown all the projects, both the successful ones and those that did not work. He said leadership is about honesty, humility, and service to the people.
Kaluma finished by saying Kenya will only move forward if leaders drop pride and work together.
He said benchmarking should not be taken as an insult. It should be seen as a good way to share ideas and help wananchi get better services across the country.
