Former Attorney-General and Democratic Party (DP) Party leader Justin Muturi has dismissed President William Ruto’s claim of securing reelection based on his record.
Speaking in Naivasha, Muturi downplayed Ruto’s track record, reminding Kenyans of the president’s controversial order to “shoot the leg” during the Gen Z protests.
He also criticized Ruto for allegedly associating with the RSF militia from Sudan, a group reportedly linked to numerous deaths in the neighboring country.
Addressing the crowd, Muturi encouraged supporters to chant “Wantam,” signaling his confidence that Ruto’s reelection is not guaranteed.
The rally follows a disappointing performance for Muturi’s party in the February 26 by-elections, where they lost MCA seats to the UDA.
Muturi was accompanied by opposition leaders, including Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Fred Matiang’i, and Martha Karua, as they intensified their political tour of Nakuru County.
The team began their tour in Maai Mahiu before proceeding to Nakuru Town, holding a series of rallies to mobilize support ahead of upcoming elections.
