Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has called on the police to arrest a man who allegedly cut off his wife's arm after a misunderstanding.
According to reports, the suspect, identified as Mark Langat, fled the scene after attacking the victim, identified as Daisy Jerotich.
She was rushed to the nearest medical facility for first aid and was transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she was admitted.
Her arm was reattached by doctors who are monitoring her progress.
The former Governor also visited Mary Claire, a woman who was attacked with acid after breaking up with her boyfriend.
According to reports, the suspect, identified as Elvis Opiyo, allegedly sent a suspect to attack his former girlfriend.
The suspect was cornered by residents after the attack.
He was beaten by members of the public before he was rescued by the police, who rushed him to the hospital before he was taken into custody.
The victim was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she was admitted. Elvis was arrested by police on March 22, 2026.
Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Mabona, who took to Facebook to confirm this news, called on men to move on once a relationship ends.
She called for the prosecution of the suspect, who is set to be charged with attempted murder.
