Sonko posted an old photo on X (formerly Twitter) of himself, probably in his early 30s, with his wife, Promise Mbuvi, and her daughter, Saumu Mbuvi.
The photo shows a man who started by struggling in his early years to become the prominent person that he is now.
"Life is a journey. Stay focused, believe in yourself, and go for what you want. Your time will come; just put God ahead of whatever lies before you," Sonko stated.
The comment section was really inspired by seeing the transformations that Sonko went through to end up the way he currently is.
One X user commented, "You’re really an inspiration; thanks for not leaving your wife even when money and fame came."
Another pointed out that it is actually the money he got from politics that changed everything. "Politics is the most successful business in Africa. Had you tried other businesses, you probably wouldn't have ended up that successful.
Despite Sonko calling it a transformation, another group of people made claims that Sonko has never struggled as much as the majority of Kenyans. They believe he has been well-off even back in the day.
